In the last quarter of 2009, SMBTN and Autotask offered a stellar promotion on Autotask Pro for SMBTN Members. Many members took advantage of this exclusive promotion. Others failed to act and missed out on this opportunity. However, since the first of the year, we have received so many inquires from members seeking to improve their business processes that we went back to Autotask and asked them to extend the promotion through March 31, 2010. That gives you access to the complete SMBTN/Autotask platform, including:

  • Autotask Pro
  • Customized SMBTN Template
  • Client Access Portal
  • Outlook Integration
  • Quickbooks Integration
  • Corelytics Lite Financial Dashboard
  • SMBTN Toolbar Integration

Best of all pricing starts at just $99 down and $99 per month for a single user, $149 down and $149 per month for two users, and $199 down and $199 per month for three users. Additional users can be added for $50 per user. Note that offer is available only to new Autotask subscribers who are current SMBTN members.

Take a step towards improving your business TODAY!

Don’t forget. You must act by March 31, 2010 to take advantage of this offer.

The process of managing a business on a day-to-day basis is no easy task. Many of us set goals for the year but fail to revisit them until it’s time to establish next year’s goals. It is a multifaceted problem of process, follow-up and making time to get those important things done that you need to in order to advance your business. It’s not simple.

That is why I was so pleased to have the opportunity to sit down with David Russell of MANAGEtoWIN last week. I recently completed David’s book, “Success with People” (which I highly recommend), and checked out his MANAGEtoWIN employee management system. I was so impressed that I wanted to see how I could put it to work at my company and introduce it to other SMBTN members. That is when David introduced me to his latest product, MANAGEgoals.

MANAGEgoals offers a way for individuals or companies to manage goals, career paths and best practice processes for as little as $19 per month for a single user. It is basically a lite version of MANAGEtoWIN that provides the growing IT business owner with the goals management and best practices features he needs  at a fraction of the cost. However, David has arranged for a special offer for SMBTN members that includes the following for just $29 per month:

  • Access for up to 7 users
  • 3 Success with People Automated Best Practice Modules, including
    • Hire the Best, Avoid the Rest Hiring Process ($99 value)
    • Goals That Work Goal  Management System ($99 value)
    • Halftime Reviews Employee Evaluation System ($99 value)
  • A 30-Day, Total Satisfaction, 100% Money-Back Guarantee

If you order before the end of the month, you can also integrate the product with Autotask for just $99 (a savings of $396). For details about this integration, check out David’s recorded webinar here. You can also view his webinar on the MANAGEgoals Best Practices module here.

For more information about MANAGEgoals, please visit their website or, if you are already committed to improving your business processes this year, you can place your order for MANAGEgoals here.

Get the SMB Daily NewsBriefThere is a great deal of value in keeping up with idustry news. The problem is there is just no time to do it effectively. So I scoured the Internet  and found 13 major industry news sites from around the globe that had a specific focus on the SMB marketplace and created the SMB Daily NewsBrief.

The SMB Daily NewsBrief aggregates the day’s SMB related news and delivers it to your e-mail daily at approximately 5:00pm PST. I don’t have to surf around or comb through tons of news feeds to find the news I am interested in. I just click on the article I want to view and go directly to the source. It has made this task much easier for me, and I hope it will do the same for you. You can view a sample here or simply click here to subscribe by checking the box next to SMB Daily NewsBrief. Note that if you already subscribe to the SMBTN newsletter, you can simply select the “Update You Profile” link in the footer of the newsletter to select this option.

The SMB Daily NewsBrief is provided by SMBTN as a service to the SMB IT Community. We invite you to check it out and give us your comments and suggestions as to how we might improve it and make it more useful.

After months of work, we officially opened up the new SMBTN Online Community on February 1, 2010. A little more than a month later, we have over 200 members on this private, SMB focused, social network. If you haven’t checked it out yet, we invite you to do so at http://Community.SMBTN.org.  Each member can build a profile that establishes their expertise and optionally provides contact information so other members can partner with them. You can blog from your profile, add  pictures, links, video and other content, some of which we plan to feature in upcoming issues of the SMBTN weekly newsletter. You can even link your Twitter, Facebook and Flickr accounts to your profile.

However, this is just the start. We are working on new communities and forums and content providers. Those of you that make use of the SMBTN Community Toolbar will also find many new features in it that will connect you better to the new community and make it easier for you to share content with your peers and other community members.

So check it out and let us know what you think. We need your feedback and hope that you will see this as a good start on a great improvement. Please feel free to post any comments or suggestions that you might have below.

Cast your Vote for the 150 Most Influential People in SMB March 10, 2010

We all know lots of people that we respect in the field of SMB IT – peers, vendor representatives, authors, and SMB community members who help us innovate, connect and refine our industry. With this in mind, SMBTN has joined with SMB Nation and SMB-PC Magazine to identify the 150 most influential people in SMB, or the SMB 150 as we like to call them.

Why 150? Well, the concept for the SMB 150™ was based on Dunbar’s number, a theoretical cognitive limit to the number of people with whom one can maintain stable social relationships. These are relationships in which an individual knows who each person is, and how each person relates to every other person. We suggest this principle fits well with the SMB community.

So, how do you cast your vote? Simple, all you need to do is click here to take the SMB 150 survey and cast your vote for up to 15 people. The 150 most frequently recognized individuals recognized in the survey will be recognized as members of the SMB 150™ and featured on the SMB150.com website and other media. Hence, we encourage you to not only to take the survey but to help us get the word out about it by Tweeting it, posting it on Facebook or LinkedIn or other important sites and forums.
