The SMB Technology Network is seeking members interested in joining two new chapters forming in Philadephia, PA, and Phoenix, AZ, as well as, a chapter recently launched by Rick Bahl in the Chicago area. If you are interested in participating in any of these new chapters, we encourage you to contact SMBTN Member Services so they can put you in touch with the Chapter President.

SMBTN is working to develop new chapters in other areas of the country, as well. If you are interested in forming an SMBTN Chapter, here is what you need to do:

  1. Contact SMBTN Member Services and let them know that you want to start a chapter in your area. They can provide you with a list of SMBTN members to get your chapter started, as well leads on speakers, vendors and a host of other resources.
  2. Find a location for your meetings (preferably one that offers food and has Internet access). Some chapters meet at restaurants, others are hosted by vendors like Microsoft or meet at training facilities.
  3. Hold a meeting to get your chapter organized. Note that in order to be recognized as a chapter of SMBTN, you must meet each month and have a minimum of four members. SMBTN can provide membership information and other resources for this meeting.
  4. Provide your information about your new chapter to SMBTN. Specifically, we need to know what you want to call the chapter (e.g. SMB Technology Network of Greater Chicago, IL, Chicago SMB IT Pros, etc.); the date,  time  and location of your meetings, and; a designated chapter contact person (along with their e-mail and phone number).

Note that, in appreciation of their service as a chapter leader, SMBTN provides its Chapter Presidents with a free business membership in the SMB Technology Network.

SMBTN is also working on new resources for Chapter Presidents that should be available in the next 60 days. Stay tuned for more on this coming soon!
